Export To Other States in the U.S.
Each state within the U.S. has its own regulations governing the entry of agricultural commodities or other items they determine pose a risk of spreading pests of concern to their state. Some states require a shipper to have a state phytosanitary certificate to accompany the shipment, some require only a Certificate of Origin. The certificate verifies the origin of a shipment and that it meets the requirements of the importing state. Not all agricultural commodities require a state phytosanitary certificate or a certificate of origin and each state’s requirements are different. Contact NDA before shipping an agricultural commodity to another state to determine if a certificate is required by the destination state. An inspection of the shipment is required before a state phytosanitary certificate can be issued.
