The Nevada Department of Agriculture (NDA) assists Nevada farmers and exporters by providing mandatory inspection and export certification for plants and plant products being exported out of state to verify a shipment meets a destination country or state’s import requirements. Export certification seeks to prevent the spread of invasive pests from one part of the world to another by inspecting agricultural before they are shipped. Export certificate is provided on a fee-for-service basis.

NDA issues four basic export certificates depending on the destination of a shipment, the importing requirements of that destination, and the needs of the applicant: federal phytosanitary certificates, state phytosanitary certificates, origin certificates, and certificates of free sale.
