October 30, 2025The Nevada Department of Agriculture (NDA) and Made in Nevada are seeking nominations for the annual Taste of Nevada - Small Business of the Year Award. This award recognizes the outstanding work agriculture, food and beverage industries do in Nevada. Nominations are due by Nov. 17, 2025.
"The agriculture, food and beverage industries are a vital part of Nevada's economy, and the producers within these sectors play crucial role in our state's success," said NDA Director J.J. Goicoechea. "This award is a small way to express our gratitude for the effort and dedication they bring to Nevada."
Nominations are encouraged for any Nevada small business that provides locally produced agriculture, food or beverage products. Businesses are also able to self-nominate. To be eligible, businesses must be licensed in Nevada, produce or manufacture at least 51 percent of their agriculture, food or beverage product in Nevada and have less than 150 employees.
Yellow Petal Flower Farm, based in Fallon, Nev., was the recipient of the 2024 award. In its inaugural year, Tsp. Baking Company, based in North Las Vegas, received the 2021 award; Frey Ranch Distillery, based in Fallon, was named the 2022 recipient; and Blue Lizard Farm, based in Caliente, Nev. was the recipient of the 2023 award.
Nominations can be made at agri.nv.gov.
