Nevada agriculture represented at Capitol Christmas Tree post-lighting reception

Farmers, ranchers and food manufacturers bring a “Taste of Nevada” to the Capitol in celebration of Silver Belle

SPARKS, Nev - December 16, 2025

In celebration of the first Capitol Christmas Tree from Nevada, the Society of American Foresters collaborated with the Nevada Department of Agriculture (NDA) to curate Nevada food and agriculture products for the post-lighting reception. “Silver Belle”, a 53-foot red fir harvested out of the Carson Ranger District of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest in Nevada, was lit on Dec. 2, followed by a reception offering an array of Nevada products reflective of the Silver State.

“I think I can speak on behalf of all Nevadans when I express how proud we are to see our state represented at the Capitol,” said NDA Director J.J. Goicoechea. “We hope everyone enjoyed a ‘Taste of Nevada’ from every corner of the state.”

The reception included pretzels from Stellar Snacks out of Carson City, salsa from Four Stones Farm in Spring Creek, teff flour from Desert Oasis Teff & Grain in Fallon, sweet onions from Peri and Sons in Yerington, mushrooms from Desert Moon Mushrooms in Las Vegas, ribeye and beef flank from Perigo Hay and Cattle in Lund, and powdered sugar from Whipzi in Las Vegas.
