LAS VEGAS, Nev. - September 30, 2024

The Nevada Department of Agriculture (NDA) announced Ray Saliga as the new Deputy Administrator for the Division of Plant Health and Compliance. Deputy Administrator Saliga will lead the division alongside Meghan Brown, who was named new Division Administrator in February.

“Ray has been an invaluable member of the Division of Plant Health and Compliance,” said NDA Division of Plant Health and Compliance Administrator Meghan Brown. “His understanding of crop production combined with his experience overseeing pest control licensing program statewide, and inspection and enforcement activities in southern Nevada, makes him a tremendous asset to our team.”

Deputy Administrator Saliga began his career with the NDA in 2018 as an Agriculturist III and was subsequently promoted to an Agriculturist IV, where he oversaw the Pest Control Operators program. Before joining the NDA, Ray served as the farm manager at the University of Nevada, Reno, where he grew crops, evaluated crop production systems in high desert climates and worked alongside students and researchers to promote Nevada agriculture.

Ray has his Bachelor of Science in Plant Sciences from Michigan Technological University. In his free time, he enjoys exploring Nevada’s roads and trails.
