The Nevada Department of Agriculture (NDA), in partnership with the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) Foundation, is seeking applicants for the 2024 Women’s Farm2Food Accelerator Program. Now in its fourth year, this program provides women farmers and entrepreneurs with the tools and training needed to grow their food and beverage businesses and enter new markets, without a cost barrier.

“The Farm2Food Accelerator Program offers invaluable support to women in agriculture who are looking to grow their businesses and bring new products to the market”, said NDA Director J.J. Goicoechea. “By providing access to valuable resources and a strong network, we hope to help a traditionally underrepresented demographic of our agriculture industry build their businesses and increase food in our state.”

The Farm2Food Accelerator Program supports women in Nevada who produce value-added food or beverage products or have ideas to develop them. Value-added products are those that change in form, such as turning wheat into flour or fruit into jam. Women growing or using specialty crops, like fruit, vegetables, honey, nuts, dried fruit or culinary herbs are encouraged to apply.

Participants will join a 15-week online program and attend two in-person events at no cost, thanks to funding from the Nevada Specialty Crop Block Grant Program. The program offers participants the ability to:
• Gain knowledge and tools related to food safety, product development, marketing and other industry resources;
• Connect with a community of women farmers, food entrepreneurs and food experts; and
• Launch a new food or beverage product or enhance an existing product for market.

An information session will be held online on October 8, 2024, at 10 a.m. Those interested can register for the informational session here.

Applications can be found at f2faccelerator.org/nv-program. The deadline to apply for the program is Oct. 18, 2024. For questions contact Dillon Davidson at ddavidson@agri.nv.gov.
