The Board of Agriculture establishes the policy of the Nevada Department of Agriculture (NDA) and adopts regulations necessary for the operation of NDA to carry out the provisions of the laws and programs administered by the NDA. The Board advises and makes recommendations to the Governor or the Legislature relating to policies of the State concerning livestock and agriculture and reports to the Governor or the Legislature on all matters relevant to NDA.

Members
The Board of Agriculture is composed of 13 members appointed by the Governor. Three members must be actively engaged in range or semi-range cattle production, one in dairy production, one in range or semi-range sheep production, one in general farming production, one in general agriculture, one in growing crops which are planted in rows spaced to permit mechanical cultivation, one in control of pests, one in petroleum industry, one in raising nursery stock, one in veterinary practices and one in supplemental nutrition distribution. Not more than two members may be residents of the same county, and the range or semi-range cattle production members must be residents of different counties.
