Initial Certification
Nevada Department of Agriculture and Nevada Cooperative Extension provide training for pesticide applicators. State and federal laws require that only certified applicators apply or supervise the application of Restricted-Use Pesticides (RUP). To become certified in Nevada applicators must pass an exam which is administered by the Department of Agriculture. Please contact any Department of Agriculture office to schedule an appointment.

Recertification
Nevada certified applicators are able to renew a current or valid certification by accruing pesticide Continuing Education Units (CEU's). This is an optional way of renewal, as a certified applicator may renew by examination. Should a Nevada certified applicator choose the CEU renewal option, that applicator will need to accrue 12 total CEU's, with at least 2 of the CEU's being in "Laws". The CEU's must be obtained during the applicators valid certification period. There is no "grace period". To renew your certification by CEU's, download and complete the RUP Application & Continuing Education Record Renewal Summary .
Approved CEU classes can be viewed by visiting the Nevada CEU web site.
