Food & Nutrition


The Food and Nutrition Division was established during the 2013 Nevada Legislature which combines the United States Department of Agriculture Child Nutrition Programs, Commodity Food Distribution Programs, and the Nevada Dairy Commission.

The newly formed division administers the following programs:

  • National School Lunch Program
  • School Breakfast Program
  • Special Milk Program
  • Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program
  • Summer Food Service Program
  • Child and Adult Care Food Program
  • Child Nutrition Commodity Support
  • State Processing Program
  • Nutrition Service Incentive Program
  • The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)
  • Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservation (FDPIR)
  • Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP)
  • Senior Farmer's Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP)
  • Disaster Feeding 

The Dairy Commission assures the availability of wholesome, nutritious dairy products and promotes a business climate that is economically viable for those who produce, process, or market dairy products in our state.
