Restricted Use Pesticides (RUP) Safety Training Materials:
What is a RUP? A pesticide, or some of its uses, is classified as
restricted if it could cause harm to humans (pesticide handlers or other
persons) or to the environment unless it is applied by certified
applicators who have the knowledge to use these pesticides safely.
Restricted Use Pesticides are available for purchase and use only by
certified pesticide applicators or persons under their direct
supervision.
The Nevada Cooperative Extension Service Pesticide Safety Education
Program uses two sources for training materials. The Nevada Cooperative
Extension Service has made available the Nevada Pesticide
Applicator Certification Workbook in electronic format (The
following files require Adobe Acrobat Reader):
Nevada has also adopted portions of the National
Pesticide Applicator Core Manual for training purposes. The
chapters indicated below should be reviewed prior to Examination (The
following files require Adobe Acrobat Reader).
