Fields and Categories:
The
following fields and categories are established for the
licensing of pest control applicators. |

1. |
Aerial
- The use of aircraft on standing or running water,
rangeland or cropland. |
|
|

Insecticides - The application of insecticides,
miticides and acaricides |

Herbicides - The application of herbicides and plant
growth regulators. |
| |
3. |
Desiccants and defoliants - The application of
desiccants and defoliants. |

4. |
Fungicides and bactericides - The application of
fungicides, bactericides and nematicides. |

Agricultural Ground - The use of ground equipment
on rangeland, cropland or animals. |

Industrial and Institutional - The control of insects
and vertebrates in, on or around industrial complexes,
institutional complexes and dwelling units. |

3. |
Structural - The control of wood-destroying pests,
inspection for wood-destroying pests and inspection for
conditions conductive to infestations of wood-destroying
pests. |

4. |
Fumigation - The use of poisonous and lethal fumigants. |
| |
5. |
Aquatic - The control of insects, weeds and vertebrates
in aquatic areas that are used or are intended for use
in and around industrial complexes, institutional
complexes and dwelling units. |

6. |
Right-of-way - The control of weeds in the maintenance
of rights-of-ways, including, without limitation, public
roads, power lines pipelines and railway rights-of-ways. |

7. |
Preservation of wood - The application of pesticides
directly to wood or wood products that are not a part of
a habitable structure to prevent or control the
degradation of the wood or wood product by a
wood-destroying organism, including, without limitation,
a fungus or bacterium. |

The
following fees are established for the testing,
licensing of pest control applications and companies
(business). |

Each examination or re-examination is $25.00 |

Licenses: |

$250.00 per business license. |
| |
2. |
$50.00 per primary principal, principal or operator. |
| |
3. |
$350.00 per agent. |

Lost,
destroyed or mutilated license cards: |

1. |
$25.00 will be charged to issue a duplicate license. |

Examinations
are broken down into three main categories; Aerial,
Agricultural Ground and Urban and Structural. |

1. |
Each applicant must pass a
general written examination and a specific examination
for each category of pest control in which the applicant
has requested to be licensed. |
|
2. |
Effective July 25, 2006 the
passing scores for each examination is as follows:
Principal examinations: 70% for each examination.
Operator/Agent examinations: 65% for each examination. |
|
3. |
Applicants who fail to pass
a section of the examination may re-test upon the
expiration of the minimum waiting period: |
|
|
1. |
Operator/Agent license - 7 days. |

2. |
Principal license - 10 days. |
|
4. |
Any applicant who uses an
unauthorized aid (including cell phones, two way
radio's, etc.) during an examination must be excluded
from the remainder of the examination and must not be
allowed to take another examination for at least 6
months. |

5. |
Effective
March 1, 2005 if you no show for an examination or if
you do not cancel your examination appointment with a 48
hours notice; you will have to come in to the examining
office of the NDOA to pre-pay for all your examinations,
thereafter. All pre-paid examination fees are
non-refundable! If you do make an appointment for
an examination and/or you do not show for the
examination on time, you will lose your exam fee. |

Documentation of two years
experience in the application of pesticides or pest
control in the category(ies) applied for, or
|

3. |
Documentation of six months
of practical experience in the application of pesticides
or pest control in the category(ies) applied for and
proof of not less than 16 college credit hours in
biological science of which not less than 8 hours must
be in subjects directly related to the field of pest
control in which the applicant wishes to be licensed. |

Qualifications for examination - Operator or agent |

1. |
Neither experience in the
application of pesticides nor practical experience and
education are required of an operator or agent. |
