NDA Director receives Presidents Award from Nevada Cattlemen’s Association

Director Jim Barbee, of the Nevada Department of Agriculture (NDA) was recognized with the Presidents Award at the 2016 joint meeting of the Nevada and California Cattlemen’s Associations held in Sparks.

 

“Jim has shown commitment to the cattlemen’s lifestyle,” David Stix, Jr., Nevada Cattlemen’s Association (NCA) President, said. “His professionalism and fairness are his foundation in his strict adherence to the laws and policies of the state.”

 

The President’s Award is awarded by the president of NCA to an individual or group who shows a commitment to better the livestock industry through their actions and dedication.

 

“I am honored to be recognized by the Nevada Cattlemen’s Association,” Director Barbee said. “The livestock industry is Nevada’s largest agricultural industry, and the NCA is an important fixture in representing the industry.

 

The Nevada Department of Agriculture (NDA) promotes a business climate that is fair, economically viable and encourages an environmental stewardship that serves to protect food, fiber and human health and safety through effective service and education. NDA includes the divisions of Administration, Animal Industry, Consumer Equitability, Food and Nutrition and Plant Industry.
