A routine lubricating oil sample will be analyzed for most or all of the
following parameters to meet specifications established in Nevada Revised
Statutes Section 590.
Flashpoint

Viscosity

Kinematic viscosity by ASTM D445
Kinematic viscosity is a measure of the
thickness of motor oils and plays a role in how well the oil flows in the
system.
CCS

Cold Cranking Simulation by ASTM D5293
cold
cranking simulation correlates with low temperature engine cranking. A
motor oil that doesn’t meet requirements is insufficient for trapping
fugitive gasoline emissions and could thus lead to increased emissions of
hydrocarbons. |
